Tealey Sayin Something

Welcome to the first edition of the Tealey Sayin Something Abbreviated, it’s called the TSS Podcast, but let me set the scene for you.

My name is Rob Carless, and I’ve been a football nerd for over 50 years now. More recently, I’ve taken to writing books on the game.

And during those 50 years, the aspect of football that I keep coming back to, is how it’s so unique in the fact that fans are so ingrained in its culture, and the football itself, and we all know that nothing, football is nothing without its fans, and the footballers themselves are like family.

So it’s the ties that bind the two that, you know, really interests me. It can involve any club, any given time, if it’s a good story, it’s basically fair game for me.

So as well as writing books generically on football, two years ago, I was asked whether I’d like to do the autobiography of a certain Mr.

Shaun Teale, to which I said yes to. Shaun was a player that came to Villa in 1991.

We didn’t know too much about him. After a couple of games, we realized that he really could be a great asset to our club. He came into the professional game at a very late stage of his career, i.e. as a 24 year old.

So before that, he’d spent time in the brutal world of non-league football. And just like Ian Wright, he’s never taken the professional game for granted. Every minute that he played professional football, he just absolutely lapped up and loved and respected it.

And that’s come across where we have gone out and done our book tours over the last 18 months. And we’ve met fans of a lot of the clubs that he’s played for.

And he’s well loved and respected. And that’s because he respects the game as well.

So we had a really good time writing the book.

We’ve become firm friends since. Also, that’s what I keep on telling him….And the book tour that we’ve done at his clubs have gone down really well as at the Supporters Clubs, events that we’ve done and other events.

So we decided that we’d take this into another atmosphere and come into the 21st century and start doing podcasts.

TSS is a bit of a play on an old banana Rama song from the 80s.

And if you want to go back before that, it’s actually a Motown song as well.

So we really like the Tealey Sayin Something part of the game.

He’s very knowledgeable on the game itself as well, and doesn’t just want to talk about what he did during the 80s and 90s. So we thought it was fair game.

So we started this tonight.

This is our first one that we’re doing.

The format of the show will be as followed. We’ll talk about the topics of the day, and that can be absolutely any football story. So we’ll bring out the stories that matter at that particular moment.

We’ll have a section as well on the teams that he played for. Also, we’ll call that Tealey’s Teams.

So we’ll discuss where some of his teams are at this moment in time. Obviously, there’s a lot of good things to be said about Aston Villa and also Bournemouth, another one of the clubs he played for in the Premier League as well. We’re going to have guests on the show, and we’re going to have competitions as well.

So as well as that, it’s going to be lined up to be a really good experience for all of us.
